Dental Instruments

Dentists use many tools to assess, diagnose, and treat oral diseases.
Dental instruments help the process of providing dental care and are
designed for certain purposes.
Various dental procedures require instruments that are specially made
for certain procedures, such as a needle and syringe for dispensing
anesthesia. Although some tools are specific to certain fields of dentistry,
many dental practices use the same basic instruments such as tools
used to examine the mouth and teeth.
The most frequently performed procedure in oral surgery is the
extraction of teeth. A large proportion of oral surgery instruments are
designed and used for the extraction of teeth and tooth roots and the
associated removal and contouring of alveolar bone.
